This product is insoluble in water and can neutralize excess stomach acid in the stomach, thereby inhibiting acid. Magnesium trisilicate has a weak neutralizing effect on gastric acid, resulting in a slow and long-lasting effect. Magnesium trisilicate does not produce gas during the process of neutralizing gastric acid. The gel like silica produced after neutralizing gastric acid can cover the surface of ulcers, thereby protecting the gastric mucosa and absorbing toxic and harmful substances and microorganisms in the gastrointestinal tract. Magnesium trisilicate used in large doses has a laxative effect and can be used to alleviate symptoms such as stomach pain, heartburn, and acid reflux caused by excessive stomach acid. Magnesium trisilicate is used as an anti caking agent, filter aid, and coating agent in the food industry.
In terms of drug application dosage forms, magnesium trisilicate are mainly used in tablet, capsule, and suspension forms.
